Nestled in amongst the many attractions of San Diego's Balboa Park is the largest multi-sport museum in the United States. Called the Hall of Champions, this museum recognizes the traditions and accomplishments achieved in over 40 different sports! Founded in 1959, the Hall of Champions also includes San Diego's Hall of Fame for outstanding athletic accomplishments of those originally from the city.

One of the newest additions to the Hall of Champions is a state-of-the-art exhibit that is dedicated to the sport of sailing. It joins the other permanent and rotating exhibitions that can be explored, from baseball to football to motor sports and surfing, each exhibit looks at the sport from the perspective of how the sport affected San Diego.

Rather than just be a museum filled with educational exhibitions, the Hall of Champions has taken the learning concept to the sports fields themselves with the Champions Sports Academy. The CSA provides life and leadership skill development to student athletes, their parents or guardians, and even their coaches. That's because the Hall of Champions believes that no child should be considered “at-risk” because of the positive impact that sports can have on a life.

A theater and an interactive media center help round out your visit to the 68k square foot Hall of Champions. If you love sports and are in San Diego, the small admission fees are well worth the experience you'll have at this incredible multi-sport museum.
