Just east of Times Square, right on the intersection of 42nd Street and Sixth Avenue lies Bryant Park. An eight acre large piece of heaven right in the heart of New York City. Despite being bordered by some of the busiest roads in Manhattan it is without a doubt one of the best places to go if you are after a little bit of tranquillity.

This green space, unlike some of the others in New York is incredibly basic. That doesn't tract from its beautify however. In fact, it is often regarded as one of the most beautiful spaces in the city. Whilst it has existed in the city for over 150 years it wasn't until the 1990's where it began to enter the public's consciousness’s when it went through a bit of revitalization. Often when walking around this park you will see people from every walk of life, from worker's enjoying their lunch to people rocking the latest fashions. If you get lucky you may even spot a couple of the best street performers in Manhattan.

Bryant Park is one of the best places to come if you wish to escape the hustle and bustle of the city. Here you are going to be surrounded by some of the most beautiful scenery in the area, and you can even enjoy the free Wi-Fi if you wish to carry out a bit of work in this tranquil setting. Looking out of the park you will be greeted by stunning views of some of the greatest buildings in New York City.

For those that want to do a little more than sit around in Bryant Park there are a number of enjoyable activities for you to take part in. This includes yoga classes, knitting classes, chess tournaments and even a number of literary events. I am sure you will be able to find something to do whilst you are relaxing in one of the many food joints in the area.

Honestly, Bryant Park is one of the best places in the city if you wish to have a relaxing day whilst staying in New York. There is fun to be had here for people of all ages.
