The normal visiting time period would be at least 2-3 hours and extend a little more if your participate in multiple activities like rock climbing, hiking and mountain biking. The 13 mile drive area is good for biking and you would be able to see the spectacular rock formations and the different textures of the rocks here. It is a great way to take a break from the glamour and bling of Vegas and move to an area that is all natural and easy going. In fact, the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation area is a striking contrast to what Vegas is famous for.
You can get an annual pass for the Red Rock Canyon at $30 per person. You will have to pay $7 for car/ trucks, $3 for motorbikes, bicycles and pedestrians. Military personnel get free yearly passes if they are currently serving. You can even get the $80 America The Beautiful annual pass or the free access pass for the disabled. Senior citizens, over 62 years of age, get America The Beautiful Senior pass for $10 per person.
There are different day hikes and seasonal events that keep on happening in the Red Canyon. Therefore, you can easily become a part of them. The hike trails of this area are very popular so don’t forget to go on one. Additionally, remember that you will be able to get your tickets on the ticket booth but they do not accept credit cards. Therefore, keep some cash ready. If you want to be here just a little longer, don’t forget to camp at the Red Rock Canyon Campground. Remember that there can only be 9 people on a campsite and the charges are $15 per night for two vehicles. For group campers, 8 vehicles are allowed with 10 to 20 people and the charges are $40 per night.
