You may have heard about it in the popular songs, read about it in many different books and novels or even seen bits and pieces of it featured on different movies and television shows that were filmed there. However, nothing that you have heard or seen before can compare to the awe-inspiring experience of actually being in New York City.
There is just so many things that you can do and places that you can see while you are there that is truly impossible to do everything in one short trip. Once you get a taste of NYC, though, you will be yearning to come back almost as soon as you have left. What are some of the great things that you can do while you are in New York City?
Even if you are not a big fan of history, you have to make sure that you experience the Statue of Liberty firsthand. It is truly one of the greatest statues that have ever been built and the fact that it has been standing tall and mighty in this beautiful city for so many years now is truly astounding. Do not be misled by the fact that you think you have seen enough of it just because it is featured in so many different books, magazines and television shows. Until you are actually there, you truly have no idea what you are missing.
A Taste of History
If you are a fan of history and want to experience some of the greatest museums in the country, then you do not need to look any further than New York City. You can visit the Metropolitan Museum of Art or even the Museum of Modern Art and have your mind blown and your breath stolen from you as you explore the exhibits that are on display.
Soon after sunset, you need to head over to the place that everyone knows about – Times Square. The reason why you want to wait until nighttime is because of the fact that you cannot enjoy all of the shining lights that seem to fill the area when the sun is out. There is truly a lot that you can do and see – day or night- while you are in New York City.
