Lincoln Park is a favorite place to visit and popular among Chicagoans as well as tourists. This is because, unlike other parks in Chicago, The Lincoln Park is less formal. It has some great sightseeing places in store for the visitors. Hence, don’t forget to takes your cameras along with you.

To begin with, people love beaches and the Lincoln Park has plenty of them. The beaches are often visited by beach volleyball players and swimmers. Along with it, you can also find sunbathers in great numbers here.

If you go to the southern part of the park, you will be awestruck. There are so many sites of attraction that you will get confused from where to start. One of such worth visiting place is the Lincoln Zoo. You can visit the Polar Bear Pool or the Lion House, however, the most highlighted feature of the zoo is the Regenstein African Journey. The journey is quite a fascinating experience as you are acquainted with the habitats of many African animals. Nearby there is a working farm called “Farm in the Zoo”. It is a great place to witness demonstrations of butter churning and cow milking. Further, in close proximity is the Caldwell Garden which is a historic lily pool area.

Once you are done with the zoo, you can head towards the Chicago History Museum. The museum exhibits the journey of Chicago city and also includes significant landmarks in the history of the city. Near the museum you will be able to see “The Standing Lincoln”. The statue is counted among the best works of Saint Gauden and is considered the most renowned Lincoln statue in Chicago.

As you make your way to the left of the statue, you will find yourself standing near the Couch Mausoleum. This 19th century Mausoleum is made up of white limestone and still has a number of bodies that were buried here. Moreover, if you wish you can also visit the Lincoln Park neighborhood. There are tree lined streets, historic row houses and an array of boutiques and restaurants. That doesn’t stop here. Apart from these, the Lincoln Park has lake front trails, biking trails, walking paths, a golf course and the list is endless.
