The Boston Duck Tour is a unique and exciting way to see the city from a totally new viewpoint. The DUCK itself is a World War II style amphibious land vehicle; this means that it can take you on the land and in the water. The tour begins with a cruise along the Boston shore passing by many of the landmarks which make the city the birthplace of freedom and a city of "firsts". Some of the sites you'll see along the way include the State House with its golden dome; Bunker Hill; Boston Common; Copey Square; TD Banknorth Garden Quincy Market and Prudential Tower. While on land you can enjoy the city as you would from an open air bus as there is a roof but no windows. Then you'll splash into the Charles River and get wonderful views of the Boston and Cambridge skylines. A view from the water is unlike any other view you could get on land. In all you'll see about 36 of the main Boston landmarks depending on traffic conditions and this will give you a great overview of the city. The Boston Duck Tours are a great choice for families with kids and the company has been awarded a certificate of excellence from Trip Advisor.

There are three elements that really make this a great way to see the city firstly you get a tour of the city; secondly the ride is in such a unique and exciting vehicle and finally the amazing tour guides. The conDUCKtors on board the Boston ducks are as interesting as the sites which they tell you about on the way. Among the entertaining and knowledgeable guides are Major Tom Foolery, an ex-carny; Vincent Van Duck, who answered an ad to paint "ducks"; Venetian Guido Gondolier and Captain Jet Black.

The tours depart from the Prudential Center and the Museum of Science and last about 80 minutes. There is also an abbreviated evening tour which leaves from the New England Aquarium and lasts 60 minutes. When you purchase your ticket you get a discount sheet with discounts to a number of other Boston attractions and establishments.
