Manhattan Beach, California

Manhattan Beach, California - 5.0 out of 5 based on 1 vote
Approximately one or two years ago, I went to a work conference in Manhattan Beach, California. It was a great trip, and the area was definitely beautiful even though I hardly left the conference hotel. Yes, I went all the way to a very beautiful city and didn't really get to enjoy it! It is something that I still regret to this day, however, it's not hard for me to go back again (as stated below). We plan on going back eventually, and venturing past the hotel that we are staying at of course. Manhattan Beach, California is a beach town in Los Angeles County in the state of California with a population of approximately 35,000. It is located west of Los Angeles on the…

Bonneville Salt Flats

A place that my fiance really wants to travel to is the Bonneville Salt Flats. If you've never heard of it, well, it looks like beautiful and bountiful snow. Many people often mistake it for snow when they've never seen it before, and are often confused as to why people who visit the Bonneville Salt Flats are wearing warm weather clothing. Well, that's because it's not snow! And it's not always freezing. The Bonneville Salt Flats is located in Utah and consists of 30,000 acres of very packed salt, and give the illusion of snow.   Bonneville Speedway The Bonneville Salt Flats are famous because it is where you can go to see if you can beat land speed records. My fiance is very much…

Gulf Shores, Alabama

Soon, we are leaving for a vacation to Gulf Shores in the state of Alabama. I have never been, but I know of many others who have made the trip down there. This is a last minute spontaneous trip for us, and we are very excited! It is around a 12.5 hour drive from St. Louis, Missouri. It is a long drive, but we wanted something within driving distance as we are bringing both of our dogs, and wanted to be more comfortable by having our own car with us as well so that we can go wherever we want and have a fun road trip while we are at it. Gulf Shores is a popular beach destination in the United States. It has many…

Key West Florida

A couple of years ago, we went on a vacation to Miami, Florida. Once we arrived, we spent a few days there and then decided to take a day to rent a car and make a one day road trip to Key West. It was a bit of a drive from Miami, but I do think it was worth well it. Someday soon we do plan on devoting a full weeklong vacation to Key West, as there are so many things to do, plus several awesome places to eat at. Key West is an island in Florida. It is the southernmost part of the Florida keys and also the southernmost city in the continential United States. Key West is a wonderful and very beautiful drive…

Famous New Orleans Food

New Orleans is a place that is very famous for the food that the city offers. Going to New Orleans is a lot of fun, and the delicious food almost always tops everyone's list of why they enjoy New Orleans and why they make a vacation out of the city. The city's famous food comes from all areas of the world: French, Spanish, Native American, Chinese, Cajun, Italian, and even some Cuban. A little information about New Orleans: It is a major port in the U.S.A. and it is also the largest city in Louisiana. The population in 2010 for the city of New Orleans was approximately 350,000 and the metro-area had a population of approximately 1.2 million. The city of New Orleans is also…

How to Prepare for a Road Trip

Even though Summer is officially over and the weather is getting colder, it doesn't mean that road trips are over as well. We are approaching the busy holiday season, in which many people will drive to see their families for Thanksgiving and the winter holidays. If you are like me, then you enjoy road trips. Yes, sitting in a car for hours upon hours can sometimes get tiring, but there are just so many things to do and experience when you are taking a road trip. There are many amazing roadside attractions in the United States. Before you embark to see them all, there are many things that you might want to think about before you leave for a road trip, no matter how long…

St. Louis Gateway Arch

St. Louis Gateway Arch - 5.0 out of 5 based on 1 vote
St. Louis, Missouri is a fun city to visit. I live in St. Louis and have lived here since I was born (I did live in Chicago as a young child for several years as well though), and there are plenty of things to do. St. Louis is not usually a top vacation spot in the U.S., but if you ever find yourself in the St. Louis area, then you should definitely make a trip to the St. Louis Gateway Arch. The St. Louis Gateway Arch is a monument that is 630 feet tall (or also 63 stories tall or also 7,560 inches). It consists of stainless steel and it is the tallest man made monument in the United States. The Gateway Arch weighs 17,246…

Silver Lake Sand Dunes

Later this month, my fiance and I plan on traveling to Chicago, and then continuing along to Silver Lake Sand Dunes in Michigan.   Luckily, we live in St. Louis, Missouri and this trip won't be too long of a drive, but it will be a fun road trip for the month of October. The weather will be perfect for visiting Chicago and Michigan. We won't be able to swim outside, but we will be able to explore the outdoors in the perfect Fall weather.   This is something that my fiance has been wanting to do for quite some time, and we plan on making it a road trip since we do have a Jeep Wrangler. This will be a budget friendly vacation since…

The "Bean" or Cloud Gate

The "Bean" or Cloud Gate - 5.0 out of 5 based on 2 votes
Chicago is a fun place to visit and live. I lived there when I was younger for a little over five years. I last visited in July of 2013, and an attraction that I really wanted to see was the "Bean" or formally known as Cloud Gate. This sculpture was not created yet when I lived in Chicago, so I wasn't able to see the attraction when I lived in the city. Also, whenever I came into town to visit old friends from my childhood and my family who still lived in Chicago, I just never got the chance to see the Bean. However, when…
