Atlanta Georgia sees thousands of visitors each day. But for those thousands of tourists it can be confusing to find fun and fresh things to do. Well, if you are taking your family to Atlanta this year you have to check out Atlanta’s Botanical Garden. The garden is located in Midtown Atlanta and spans over 30 acres across the area, and is more than just a garden. The botanical garden includes species of plant life from all over the world, some of which are endangered. Exhibits are constantly changing and are some of the best you will find anywhere. Permanent displays include a large orchid garden that captivates the imagination and the heart.
If you have children they will love the interactive garden developed especially for them. This interactive garden includes water features, large art sculptures, and animal life. The garden becomes an exciting educational experience and it truly is the perfect way for your children to spend their day. As you move throughout the botanical garden you will find sections designed for specific plant life. For example, there is a rose garden, Japanese garden, aquatic plant pond, an orchid center. Most of the garden is an outdoor tour but some exhibits are indoors such as the orchid center. If you love to walk you have to discover the canopy walk which takes you 40 feet in the tree tops and overlooks the woodland below. Spanning 600 feet in length, the canopy walk is a great way to relax and uncover the beauty of the Atlanta landscape.
The botanical garden also works with the Atlanta zoo to incorporate wildlife into the exhibits. The indoor Fuqua Conservatory is home to turtles, exotic birds, and even poison dart frogs that you won’t find in other botanical gardens. The climate in the conservatory is unique to Atlanta’s botanical garden and is worth every penny it costs to enter. If you decide to take your family to this gorgeous and educational garden don’t forget to bring your walking shoes, and get ready for a fun filled day learning and growing together.
